About me

Hello!

My name is Gosia and I'm a dollmaker currently working from Warsaw, Poland. I've been active in the BJD (Ball-Jointed Doll) hobby since around 2010. In 2017, I decided to make my own BJD and started Do Dolls Dream. Since then, I've been hard at work to improve my craft and create the best dolls I possibly can.

My studio is still small. Just me, my helpful husband, and my adorable cat. Over the years, my dolls have reached many beautiful places around the world, like Japan, France, the USA, Qatar, and many more. I currently only sell my dolls online, but my dream for the future is to open a doll museum and a physical store. Fingers crossed!

Aside from being a dollmaker, I'm still an active collector of all types of dolls. My collection is getting bigger all the time, and it has everything from antique dolls and Bunka dolls to modern resin BJDs.

What do I create?

I design, create, and stylize Ball-Jointed Dolls cast in polyurethane resin. Each part of a doll is connected with elastic strings and hooks, allowing for articulation. They can be painted and dressed, and their eyes and wigs can be changed. BJDs have a long history of being collector's items showcased as a visual treat.

The journey to create one of these dolls begins with sketching ideas. Then comes sculpting, slowly and carefully giving shape to the idea from the paper. After that, the dolls are cast in resin using silicone molds based on the original prototype.

As an artist, I found within dolls the means for my true and honest artistic expression. I think about dolls every day, all the time. They allow me to explore different ideas, aesthetics, and time periods of fashion and beauty. The joy of transforming a doll through even the slightest changes in her eyes, wig, or dress is the emotion I try to capture the most. Magic is hidden within small things.
