What is a “layaway”?

A layaway is a popular term among the BJD community for paying for your doll order in multiple smaller installments. Since it takes time for a doll to be created some BJD fans prefer this payment option as they wait for their dolls to be shipped.

How to get a layaway?

When filling out the preorder e-mail just specify in the related question what kind of layaway you would like to get. There are two layaway plans available:

• up to 4 months layaway for orders up to 550 EUR
• up to 6 months layaway for orders above 550 EUR

Preorders – What are the layaway terms?

A non-refundable deposit is required to start an order on layaway. The deposit amount varies between products and ordered doll amount, please read the description on each product/preorder page.

After the deposit is paid, the remaining amount will be divided into even payments, which should be paid each month during the layaway period on the agreed date.

If for any reason you are not able to make payment on time, please contact me as soon as possible (dodollsdream@gmail.com). In case of lack of contact and payment after the agreed date, the layaway and order may be canceled and NO REFUNDS will be issued.

Layaways can be paid earlier if you would like to change them. It’s possible to change your layaway plan to suit your needs better.

In-stock sales – What are the layaway terms?

With in-stock sales only a 50/50 layway plan is available. The total price is split into two payments. The first half is paid with the order and the second half a month later.

Preorders – How about some payment plan examples?

Sure thing! Let’s see an example of two payment plans for a doll that costs 550 EUR.

The most simple and straight forward is the FULL PAYMENT option. Issue a single payment for your doll (example 550 EUR) when your order is accepted and a shipping fee (example 40 EUR – depends on your location).

An alternative payment option would be for example a 4 month layaway plan. In our example it could start with a 200 EUR deposit (deposit amounts change so always check the specific order page!). The remaining amount (in our case 350 EUR is remaining) would be divided into 3 similar payments – 1st payment of 115 EUR, 2nd payment of 115 EUR and 3rd payment of 120 EUR. With Your last payment there also comes a shipping fee of for example 40 EUR (depends on your location).
